These Indonesia folktales told about the Princess Dewi Limaran had cursed into the snail. His husband Raden Putra was sad because he lost his lovely wife. This folktale for storytelling comes from East Java of Java Island.
Legend of The Golden Snail
Once upon a time, there was a couple living in a palace. They had been Prince Raden Putra and Dewi Limaran. Prince Raden Putra's father was the king of this kingdom.
One afternoon, Dewi Limaran was walking around in the palace garden. Suddenly she saw a snail. It was ugly and disgusting.

"Yuck!" Stated Dewi Limaran after which she threw it out to a river.
She didn't understand that the snail was actually an old and powerful witch. She could transform herself into anything. The witch was angry to Dewi Limaran. The witch put a spell on her and changed her into a golden snail. The witch then threw it away to the river.

The golden snail was drifting away from the river and got captured into a web. An old lady was fishing and utilized her net to catch some fish. She had been amazed to see that a golden snail in her web site. She took it and brought it all home. When the old girl woke up in the morning, she was amazed that the home was in the good condition.
The floor was mopped. And she also had food on the table. She had been thinking very hard.
The person is very kind." It occurred again and again each morning.
The old woman was very inquisitive. 1 night she decided to stay up late. She was peeping from her room to understand who cooked for her. Then, she couldn't think what she saw. The golden snail she caught from the river become a gorgeous woman. The old girl approached her.
"I am Dewi Limaran, Ma'am. A witch cursed me.
"The spell can be broken if I hear the melody from the holy gamelan," continued Dewi Limaran.
The old woman then rushed to the palace. She talked to Prince Raden Putra about her spouse.
Prince Raden Putra was so Pleased. He was looking for his wife anywhere.
Then he prayed and meditated. He requested the gods to give him the holy gamelan. He wanted to break the witch's spell. After several days praying and meditating, eventually gods granted his wish. He instantly brought the holy gamelan into the older lady's house. He performed it beautifully. And then surprisingly the golden snail turned into the beautiful Dewi Limaran.

The couple was so joyful that they may be together again. They also thanked the old woman for her kindness. As a return, they requested her to stay in the palace.
