Indonesian Short Story : The Youngman

The story of Sekunca and Youngman comes from Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. The story of this boy tells the story of a brave young man and the deceit of Commander Sekunca. There is a moral story in it for children. An honest and brave man will win against a devious plan.

Indonesian Short Story for Kids

Once upon a time in Tamiang property, there was a kingdom ruled by a king and his queen. Regrettably, they did not have a daughter. The King and the Queen have been awaiting the baby for quite a very long moment.

In their desperation, the King, and the Queen create a promise. They swore that when the queen created a little woman, they would give the baby to the King of elephants.

Not too long after their guarantee, the queen expectant. After nine weeks, the Queen born a little woman. The king had abandoned his oath to the king of elephants. The King makes the biggest mistake he ever did.


After the baby reached the era of forty-four times, the infant needs to undergo a traditional ceremony. The standard ceremony usually held at the Tamiang culture. The service is for the infant to measure the dirt for the very first time and to reduce kid's hair for the first time.

Unfortunately, in the middle of the service, came a group of elephants from the jungle. A group of this elephant took the baby off to the dark forest, the location where the Elephant King lived.

The king recalled his poor little women After about fifteen years after. So, he declared to all the peoples in the nation.

He stated,"for those who could bring the princess back to the kingdom, would become the next king and the princess as the queen."

There is a well-known commander in the country named Panglima Sekunca. Panglima means Commander. There's also a handsome Youngman took part in this competition.

The Commander thought that he was the most powerful man in the nation. He believes that the guy was nothing but he's a weak and stubborn man.

However, this young man was a patient guy. He dismissed Sekunca insignificance words. The guy followed Commander into the jungle.

Sekunca arrived in the woods first. He discovered the big trees dropped on the ground. When Sekunca found this, He felt fearful. He believed something dangerous could occur to himself. Afterward, he chose to await the Youngman.

The man arrived alongside the Commander. At the middle of their journey, finally, they found the location. They watched the elephants gathered themselves. They also saw that the princess was sitting in the midst of the elephant group.

Sekunca felt so afraid seeing this circumstance. To conceal Sekunca's fear, he then requested the Youngman to go first. He asks this guy to fight with the elephants first.

This Youngman includes a magical power. With all his braveness encouraged by his supernatural power, he struggled with the elephants. This young man also had a magic sword. With his sword, he can kill the elephants such as the king of elephants.

But throughout the Youngman's fight with the elephant, the Commander ran. He transferred out of the stadium and left the guy fighting alone.

After the huge fight, the princess still sitting at the middle of the dinosaurs' dead bodies. This Youngman saved the princess. He took her back to the kingdom.

Panglima Sekunca felt jealous into the Youngman's successful. Sekunca couldn't accept this fact. He does not agree when the Youngman marry the princess.

Sekunca wanted to make a wicked plan to the man. He assaulted the Youngman. He pushed him to the deep pool at the middle of the jungle. This manner, Sekunca can substitute the man and brought back the princess to the Kingdom. He'll proclaim himself that he will kill the King of Elephant.

When Sekunca along with the Princess came in the realm, the peoples and the King were so happy. The palace made some ceremony for the princess and Panglima Sekunca.

The King thought, "This is my hero, and he will become the next king for saving my beloved princess."

The King announced to his peoples that soon Panglima Sekunca will wed the princess. At exactly the same time, in this ceremony held a coronation for Sekunca Commander.

The Princess advised that Sekunca wasn't the person who has saved her. In fact, the person that has spared her is your young man.

The king confused. The King made a decision to cancel the ceremony for seven days until the Youngman could proof himself. The King will wait for the Youngman present in seven days.

In the jungle, the Youngman can save himself in the dark well. During his return to the castle, he fought with many wild animals.

Until the seventh day, the Youngman couldn't reach the palace however the following moment. But when the wedding ceremony between the princess and Panglima, Sekunca arrived.

The Youngman revealed himself in the center of the crowded. This presence of Youngman stopped the wedding ceremony. The Youngman tried to convince the King. He said that he was the true hero, but Panglima Sekunca nevertheless insisted that he was the guy who rescued the princess.

There is a debate between Sekunca Commandeer and the Youngman. The King stops the argument. The King announced a duel between Sekunca along with the Youngman.

The fight took a whole day for three days. Finally, Panglima Sekunca dropped in the fight considering he was wrong, bad-hearted, and catchy. The Youngman man won the fight because he was brave and honest.
